Anyone that knew Marilyn knew about her hardships growing up. One item that epitomized her struggle was the white baby grand piano that was purchased by her mother, Gladys, while she was living with Gladys for the first time since she was born. Because of this she attached a lot of sentimental value to the piano, not to mention it was beautiful! After Marilyn's mother was institutionalized the piano was ultimately sold and it would take years of searching for Marilyn to locate the baby grand and buy it back.
Actual piano owned by Marilyn, sold at the Christie's auction in 1999.
About the piano:
♠ The white lacquered piano is early-20th century, unknown American manufacturer (some accounts say it's a Franklin). The case with square tapering legs and feet with caster; together with a matching bench.
Beautiful pic of Marilyn with her mother's piano.
♥ Tidbit! Who owns this piano now? The one and only Mariah Carey is now the proud owner of Marilyn's white baby grand piano (she paid $600,000 for it). Lucky gal! ♥

Marilyn's designer wear!
Emilio Pucci was one of her all time favorite designers. Here is a pucci blouse worn by Marilyn in 1962.

Green silk jersey! The sleeveless blouse with boat-neck and elastic waistband; together with a knee-length skirt with elastic waistband.
Printed silk jersey, geometric patterns in greens and pinks, with boat neck and long sleeves together with matching belt.

Marilyn's earrings! Designed with three varying links of rhinestones, fastened to a rhinestone scroll, in a fancy moti. They were by worn by Marilyn on March 14, 1954 as she accepted her "Photoplay Magazine Award" for "Most Popular Film Actress of 1953". How exciting!
