3rd Fact: During the filming of Niagara, Marilyn was still under contract as a stock actor. Thus, she received less salary than her make-up man.

Fact # 4! She was an outstanding athlete (played on her orphanages softball team) and she always jogged and lifted weights, before the "health and fitness" boom of the eighties.

Fact # 5! Hollygrove was the name of her orphanage, it has since been torn down and replaced.

Fact # 6! Marilyn's first credit card was for Martindale's bookstore. She was an avid reader, so much for the dumb blonde theory.

Fact # 7! Marilyn's maternal ancestry was Irish and Scottish.

Fact # 8! Norma Jeane's first, solo magazine cover was the April 26, 1946 issue of Family Circle.

Fact # 9! In 1962 Marilyn took yoga lessons.

Fact # 10! Marilyn had her hair bleached once a week by the same colorist who had bleached Jean Harlow's hair.

This picture was taken in 1951, when the budding actors were trying to make their mark, I believe that one stands out just a bit. Remember Tony Curtis said kissing Marilyn Monroe was like kissing Hitler during the filming of "Some Like It Hot"??? I bet he regretted that one.
